Exploring innovative and novel approaches to use EO in monitoring volcanic activity, Susanna’s impressive research expands our understanding of volcanic deformation and hazards.
Susanna investigates different methods of measuring changes in volcanic topography caused by effusive eruptions by employing both radar phase and amplitude signals. Her research further includes using signal processing and machine learning methods for separating volcanic signals from noise. An important focus of her research is also the optimal interpretation of regional and global datasets of volcanic deformation made possible by Earth Observation.
